Queensland Holocaust survivor George Stein remembered in Queensland Parliament

Queensland Holocaust survivor George Stein who passed away last month aged 95 was remembered yesterday (12 May 2022) in Queensland Parliament.

Queensland Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Leanne Linard, spoke about George’s legacy at the South Brisbane shule and Holocaust remembrance and education. The Minister also spoke about her commitment to the establishment of the Holocaust museum.

Member for Chatsworth, Steve Minnikin, spoke about George’s survival in the Dora Nazi labour camp and liberation from the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Mr Minnikin said “We will never forget the lessons of the Holocaust. I will never forget the privilege of meeting you.”
